Phnom Penh - Pursat - Battambang - Pailin - Sisophon - Banteay Chhmar - Siem Reap
Day 01 | Phnom Penh arrival |
Arrive in Phnom Penh and transfer to hotel.
Overnight stay in Phnom Penh.
Day 02 | Phnom Penh |
Afer breakfast, visit some of the capital's most impressive sites, including the National Museum, the Silver Pagoda containing the Emerald Buddha statue, the Royal Palace and Phnom Penh's oldest shrine, Wat Phnom.

Day 03 | Phnom ~ Pursat ~ Battambang |
After breakfast, we drive to Oudong Mountain - Cambodia's former capital with its royal tombs situated on Royal Fortune Hill before proceeding to Pursat Province to see Klieng Moeung and the floating village of Kampong Leung to catch a glimpse of authentic rural life. We take lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to Battambang province.

Day 04 | Battambang ~ sightseeing |
After breakfast at a local restaurant we visit the Provincial Museum and drive by the picturesque Sangker River to the 11sth Century Wat Ek Phnom. We then head to Phnom Sampeau and the killing field/cave. In the afternoon we visit Phnom Banon with its five hill top sandstone towers with magnificent views over the plains below. We return to Battambang for a walk through the town and along the banks of the Sangke River.

Day 05 | Battambang ~ Banteay Chhmar ~ Siem Reap |
After a hotel breakfast we drive northwest to Banteay Mean Chey province (Sisophon) and Banteay Chhmar temple, one of the capitals of Jayavarman II. It was rebuilt by Jayavarman VII and dedicated to his sons and four generals who were killed in battle repelling a Cham invasion in 1177. The 11th century sandstone structure is dedicated to the god Avalokiteshvara and suffered significant damage during repeated Thai invasions, although many of its huge bas-reliefs, which are said to be comparable of those of the Bayon and Angkor Wat, still remain. A picnic lunch will be provided. Late in the day we also see Banteay Torp temple before arriving at Siem Reap.

Day 06 | Siem Reap ~ Rolous Group & Grand Circuit |
In the morning we visit the Roluos group of temples dating from the 9th and 10th century, including Preah Ko, Bakong, and Lolei temples. Lunch will be served at local restaurant as we continue on the "grand circuit": Neak Poan, Eastern Mebon, Pre Rup, Preah Khan. We end the day by watching the sunset from the top of Phnom Bakheng.

Day 07 | Siem Reap ~ Angkor Thom & Ta Prohom |
This morning, we begin an exploration of the ancient city of Angkor by entering Angkor Thom via the South Gate. Continue the journey by viewing the ruins at Bayon, Baphoun, Phimeanakas, the Royal Palace, the Elephant Terraces, the Leper King Terrace. In the afternoon we visit the three-tiered temple-hill of Pre Rup. There, view the Bantey Kdei with its rarely seen sculpted female deities, the Lake of Srah Srang and the dramatic Ta Prohm Temple, enveloped by jungle. In addtion, we visit theTa Keo, Chau Say Tevada, and Thommanon temples before returning to the hotel.

Day 08 | Siem Reap ~ Beng Mealea, Banteay Srei & Angkor Wat Temples |
After breakfast at hotel, drive through typical Khmer countryside to the remote Beng Mealea temple (60km) to visit the long-abandoned 11th century temple, shrouded in the jungle. After lunch at a local restaurant we visit Banteay Srey temple regarded as the jewel in the crown of classic Khmer art. On the way back we explore epic Angkor Wat, with its extraordinary architecture and bas-reliefs.

Day 09 | Siem Reap ~ Tonle Sap Lake Boat cruise |
In the morning, we visit local villages and have a boat cruise on Tonle Sap Lake to witness the daily lives of Cambodia's rural population living in floating villages. We return to town and an Orphanage Center. After lunch at a local restaurant we head out in the countryside and a Silk Farm at Pourk where visitors can see the process of silk making from start-to-finish. Later we stop at the Artisan d'Angkor (stone and wood carvings) workshops, created to redevelop traditional Cambodian artisan skills. We also visit the Mine Museum.

Breakfast at hotel. Free tiem at leisure till departure for airport.
End of tour (Breakfast).
