Location

The Reef Dive Resort is situated on Mataking Island. It takes less than 1 hour by boat to reach Mataking, from the mainland city of Semporna in the province of Sabah. The size of the island is about 40 acres and lies on the edge of the continental shelf surrounded by fringing reef of hard and soft coral.

Room arrangement:

Please take note all room allocation is based on Run-of-the-House (ROH):

Resort normal check-in time: 14:00 hours
Resort normal check-out time: 11:00 hours

Any early check-in or late check-out will subject to room availability especially during peak season.

* Peak Season surcharge

5% Peak season surcharge applies for below dates of stay:

• Month of July to August: 01st July 20 ~ 31st August 2020,
• Chinese National Holiday: 01st October 2020 ~ 07th October 2020,
• Chinese New Year: 11th February 2021 ~ 17th February 2021.

 

Mandatory by Law of Malaysia Tourism Tax (MyTTx)

• only applies to Non-Malaysian / International traveller (with Foreign Passports)

• Flat rate of RM 10.00 per room per night will be collected directly from all foreign travellers by cash at the resort on behalf of Royal Malaysian Customs with effect 1st September 2017.
• This fee is necessary for the Country to carry out the development, enhancement, maintenance and promotion of tourism in Malaysia.

 

Package Inclusions:

• Airport Meeting Service,
• Return trip of Land/Boat Transfer (Tawau Airport/Tawau Hotel – Semporna Jetty – Mataking Island – Semporna Jetty – Tawau Airport/Tawau Hotel),
• Full board meals (3 main meals), free flow of coffee/tea and light snacks,
• Twin/Triple sharing accommodation at Mataking Island with air-conditioning, fresh hot water shower and attached bathroom,
• Diver Package inclusion:
  
• Daily boat dives with weights, weight belt, tanks, and professional Dive Master/Dive Instructor at different dive sites such as Mataking Island, Timba-Timba Island, Pandanan Island, and other nearby island (except on the arrival and departure day) and unlimited shore buddy dives (house reef) without guide. Equipment rental is NOT included.
• The sites cover around the below islands:
• Pandanan Island
• Timba-timba Island
• Bohayan Island – dive site with soft and hard corals
• Kalapuan Island – dive site to spot Mandarin fishes (as known as Mandarin valley)
• Pom Pom Island
• Mataking Island.

NON-included service:

• Any air ticket from your hometown to Tawau Airport and return,
• Any hotel accommodation not mentioned under inclusion items,
• Any passport and visa fees for Malaysia,
• Travel Insurance of any kind (highly recommended to get one prior departure),
• Any Diving equipment,
• Any meal plan not mentioned under inclusion items,
• Any personal expenses eg telephone calls, internet charge, laundry etc.,
• Any optional tipping to service providers eg divemaster.
• Any service not mentioned above.


Terms and conditions:

• All package rates shown are quoted per person and based on Twin/Triple sharing basis.
• Minimum 2 adults departure.
• NO combination of package is allowed (eg 2 nights of diver package plus 1 night of non-diver package etc).
• For Single traveller, if there are no other guests to meet the minimum requirement for the land and boat transfer, additional cost shall apply for the land and boat transfer.
• Any children who is a certified diver will have to pay FULL diver’s package rates regardless of their age and parents are to be held responsible for their children at all times.
• Proof of Identity, Nationality and Diving License is required upon reservation.
• Equipment rental is NOT included is any of the diver/non-diver packages. Rental of full set of dive equipment is available at:
• RM 85.00 per certified diver per day for full set of dive equipment
• Rm 30.00 per person per day for full set of snorkeling equipment.
• Single dive gear is available on rented. Limited sets and subject to availability.
• Diver packages are subjected to the diving schedules and regulations of the resort as set by the dive centre. Check dive must be done upon arrival at the resort with the divemaster/instructor before scuba dives.
• Non Diver packages CANNOT be converted into Diver packages once the guest has arrived at the resort. Non-divers with a certified dive licence who wish to go for any diving activities will be charged at RM 100.00 per certified diver per dive regardless of check dive, boat dives, shore dives or Sipadan dives – NOT including any diving equipment rental.
