Rusutsu in Hokkaido is located one hour from Niseko and 90 minutes by bus from Sapporo's Chitose Airport, a powder purists dream come true. This uncrowded, tree-lined, immaculately groomed resort is one of Japan's finest. There are 42 kilometres of runs, including a long cruiser of 3.5 kilometres.

Rusutsu is made up of threee mountains - East, West and Isola.

Some of the best groomed runs in the local area can be found here along with easily accessible off piste terrain. Add to this a half pipe and board park and you have a well rounded resort suitable for everyone.

This quiet village is made up of 2 hotels and several pensiones and is the perfect place to get away from it all.

There is more to Rusutsu than powder-filled tree runs. The resort is a delight for families with its host of activities for children and adults who want to do more than just ski or snowboard. These include tubing, dog sledding and snowmobiling. Families with young children are well-catered for at the childcare facility, however you must pick up the kids for lunch and drop them back for the afternoon sesson.
